Challenge

Buying a car is the second-biggest purchase in most people’s lives. Hyundai understood this, and wanted to make the car-buying process was as effortless as possible.

To do this, they needed to create a new website that guided people every step of the way of the process – from research to purchase and beyond. Most importantly, it would also introduce the new “Modern Premium” brand positioning, prompting a whole new audience to consider Hyundai.

Idea

Hyundai.com.au reimagined what a car website could be. It was created as a guide to the customer, acting as a virtual concierge. Most websites act as a source of information, but this website goes much further, collecting essential information and delivering it to the dealer. So as soon as the customer walks in the door for a test drive, the dealer would know who they were and what they wanted.

The site showcased the unique personality of each vehicle – and the intuitive design helped make the experience as rewarding and hassle-free as possible.

Most people engage with car companies in the early stages of buying a car, but this relationship drops off dramatically after the point of purchase. Hyundai wanted to change that by establishing an ongoing relationship with its customers, building a continuous conversation that carried on right up until the customer was ready to purchase their next Hyundai.

Results

Since the site launched we've seen:

  • 44% increase in test drives

  • 21% increase in site actions

  • 25% increase in Find a Dealer searches

  • 13% increase in newsletter registration

  • The website returned the entire investment after 2 months

  • Hyundai moved from 4th to 2nd in passenger car sales
